Professional Bio
Professor Yun-Hee Jeon is the inaugural Susan and Isaac Wakil Healthy Ageing Chair at the University of Sydney. Professor Jeon is a leading nursing academic specialising in gerontology and psychogeriatrics, with extensive expertise in behavioural intervention trials, qualitative and implementation research, and systematic reviews in the fields of person-centred care, reablement, rehabilitation, quality outcomes, workforce and clinical leadership in dementia and aged care. She leads pioneering work in dementia research awareness and capacity building through the University of Sydney cross disciplinary Citizen Science node and StepUp for Dementia Research both she founded in 2019 to improve public/healthcare consumer involvement in dementia, health and care research. To date, Professor Jeon has been awarded over $20 M in competitive grants as a chief investigator for dementia, aged care, and health services research, and contributed over 140 peer-reviewed publications. Her work has been recognised locally and internationally through over 100 invited talks. In 2022, Jeon was recognised as one of the United Nation’s Healthy Ageing 50 - fifty global leaders working to transform the world to be a better place to grow older.
