Patricia Davidson, RN, PhD, has a career in nursing, health and education spanning over four decades. She served as a professor and dean of the School of Nursing at Johns Hopkins University in the United States from 2013 to 2021. She was Vice Chancellor and President of the University of Wollongong from 2021 to 2024 where a particular focus was increasing collaboration across disciplines. Her research focuses on addressing social determinants of health and addressing the needs of individuals living with chronic and complex illnesses. She has been recognised with numerous awards and honours, including being named a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, the American Heart Association, and the Australian College of Nursing. She has also served in significant roles such as the Secretary General of the World Health Organization’s Collaborating Centres for Nursing and Midwifery and on the board of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health.
